silent boy
For his solo show at artgenève, Thomas Liu Le Lann presents “silent boy”, an installation composed of a set of new works. Photographs taken by the artist between 2016 and 2022 dialogue here with a plush crane in which one of his soft heroes grew up and remained locked up. Like a stuffed animal that no one would ever have earned and abandoned to its fate. Growing up or growing old in a glass box is also what Thomas Liu Le Lann tells us about through his photographs of aquariums, nightclubs and museum windows. His fascination with invertebrates and exoskeletal forms speaks to the link between soft sculptures, underwater worlds and sexual liberation.
