Xippas | Barbe à papa, CAPC, Bordeaux

Bertille Bak’s Berceau de Chaos (2022) and four works by Thomas Liu Le Lann (from the series Training Part 2, 2021, as well as new work Bad Luck I, 2022) are included in the group show Barbe à Papa, on view until May 14 at CAPC, Bordeaux, France.

Curated by Cédric Fauq, the exhibition echos the funfair that takes place every year on the place Quinconces since 1854 in the city of Bordeaux. This is also an occasion to explore the cultural and material history of the carnival and to raise questions such as what form of relationship does the funfair establish with the today’s world?
