Yamandú Canosa – flora cielo cristal

*flora cielo cristal* functions much like a haiku: three words that, upon converging, can be read as a fragment of a philosophical poem—a starting point for rethinking those iconographies. What shines through in this series of glass-encased works is the splendor of nature illuminated in branches, trees, lightning bolts, starry skies, water, birds, fruit, and insects—an iconographic universe revealed to us as a fractal optical illusion. Perceptual ambiguity is present in all these works. *flora cielo cristal* offers a veiled vision, a way of looking that is—in this instance—filtered through stained glass, multiplying the quality and diversity of colored light. And light is not merely the substance that illuminates and renders the world visible; it is also the very substance of the painting—painting as harmonized light.
