After MAC Bahia and Ricardo Brennand Institute in Recife, Vik Muniz’s major retrospective, A Olho Nu, curated by Daniel Rangel will be hosted at the Banco do Brasil Cultural Center, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The internationally renowned Brazilian artist is recognized for exploring the boundaries between image, materiality and perception. The exhibition brings together three-dimensional works from the beginning of his career, emblematic photographic series that have defined his artistic production over the years, and recent works, offering a comprehensive overview of more than three decades of contribution to contemporary art.
By articulating different processes, materials and scales, the exhibition highlights the poetic and conceptual complexity of a work of art that challenges the ways images are seen, represented and understood in the contemporary world. A Olho Nu offers an experience that combines immediate visual impact with critical reflection, reaffirming the artist’s position as one of the leading mediators between contemporary art, visual perception, and shared culture.
