Founded by Renos Xippas in 1990 in Paris, Xippas gallery has been expanding ever since in major European and Latin American cities. Focused on international contemporary art, the gallery has been developed as a platform for discovery and promotion of both young and established artists.
Situated in the heart of the Marais district, Xippas is one of the oldest contemporary art galleries in Paris. The gallery spans two levels of the building it has been occupying since its opening: at 108 rue Vieille du Temple. This historic address has been remembered since by all visitors thanks to a range of large windows on the first floor and to the long wooden staircase leading to it.
In Geneva, Xippas gallery is situated in the heart of the Quartier des Bains, the contemporary art district that has been developed around the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MAMCO).
In Montevideo, the gallery is located at the Patrimonial building of the antique Hotel Colón. Typical example of the late 19th century architecture, the basement of the building has been entirely renovated and transformed into a white cube. A 200 m2 area divided in two spaces hosts solo shows as well as group exhibitions.
Since January 2020, a new gallery space is open on a 6 hectare natural site in Punta del Este, the famous South American seaside resort.
