Rolf Julius’ Musik für die Augen (1982) is included in the group show À bruit secret. Hearing in Art, on view until May 14 at Tinguely Museum, Basel, Switzerland.
A secret noise. Hearing in Art is the fourth in a series of five thematic exhibitions at Museum Tinguely that experimentally explore the world of the five senses. From February 22 to May 14, 2023, the exhibition focuses on the sense of hearing, which plays a major role in the multi-sensory experience of art. It proposes a multitude of immersive and interactive encounters in the field of art history with familiar or unknown terrestrial sound worlds.
Older works and others created specifically for this exhibition by some 25 international artists invite the public to listen attentively while giving them the opportunity to access acoustic spaces usually imperceptible to the human ear.
