The works by Thomas Liu Le Lann are included in the group exhibition Baby, Welcome to the Party, curated by filmmakers Caroline Poggi and Jonathan Vinel at the Maison des arts Georges & Claude Pompidou, Cajarc, France.
Inspired by the hit song by the American rapper Pop Smoke, the show invites us to a party populated by ghosts and relics of pop culture, through films, sculptures, paintings and photographs. Thomas Liu Le Lann’s sculptures Training Part 3 and Soft Riffles evoke themes dear to filmmakers: the end of childhood, the construction of one’s own identity, identification with role models conveyed by contemporary culture and the flow of digital images, cultures marginalized or minority communities.
