Τhe bust of « Ruth Bader Ginsburg », by Stephan Goldrajch, is now on view at the Palais de Justice in Brussels.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg was an American lawyer and jurist (1933-2020). She has inspired generations of women to break gender barriers. Even after facing gender discrimination as she pursued her academic goals, Ginsburg forged ahead and became the second woman—and first Jewish woman—to serve on the Supreme Court.

The bust done by Stephan Goldrajch is a collective work made in knitting, crochet and weaving by 70 participants and the first bust of a female judge to be presented at the Palais de Justice.

The original work, a 3 meter high sculpture, was ordered by the Cultural Center of Libramont in Belgium and was done collectively with the people of Libramont. The work was then modified and is now installed at the Palais de Justice in Brussels.
