In his first solo show at Xippas gallery in Punta del Este, Ricardo Lanzarini presents a selection of works made between 2007 and 2017, which have been created in a dialogue between what he defines as the “scenography” of his autobiographical memory and current reality. It is a world in which two times converge: a corporal time, visceral and a time that is pure memory, scenography.
The exhibition, which confronts drawings on multiple scales – from those built point to point inside the magnifying glass to the mural scale – is an invitation to the viewer for finding the personal connection with time and the distances of each work.
His work presents with humor a critical look at the social and political reality we are immersed in.
Shareing the tipical regional drink ¨yerba mate¨, but in Chinese and with Pope Francisco, the title of the exhibition, ironically suggests the problems of identity and Uruguay’s current project.
