For twenty years, Éric Poitevin have been revisiting different genres of art history through photography: landscape, still life, portrait, nude. He makes thus sets or series that he stops and resumes at his pleasure. Whether his subjects are human beings, animals or plants, the artist works in the same manner: he presents them stripped of all artifice. The lack of expression, the tight framing, the diffused light, the monochrome background, all this helps to create the most neutral point of view as possible. Each photograph gives impression of a moment suspended in time.
